The Helping Hands Club is a club best kept small, if it is to stay happy. Too many helping hands means diminishing marginal returns to a point were it becomes sub-optimal.
Even a membership of two can sometimes be detrimental. Two experts can each give you a unique piece of advice on a specific topic. And both advice appears complementary. However, it may actually be a bad idea to incorporate both pieces of advice at once.
It’s similar to the expression, “Too many cooks in the kitchen.” A cook may believe fish will complement the soup, while the others may suggest pineapples, chicken, or eggplants. While each ingredient suggestion sounds doable, I’d imagine a real funky soup if one were to mix all those ingredients together.
